Palantir's AIP Con Was Incredible
+ Introducing my latest product, and how we are going to use it today
Welcome back to DailyPalantir! On today’s newsletter we will break down Palantir’s AIPCon, with a little help from my new product. Introducing, hobbits.ai.
Okay, so this is the product I have been working on for 5 months. In a nutshell, I wanted to build something that could be the go-to-resource when it came to getting up to date, instant, and reliable information around Palantir.
What is hobbits.ai? It’s a custom built LLM trained on 20M words of content I’ve created over the past 3 years in addition to all public data available from Palantir.
I think this is the perfect product for me to launch — I’ve never liked the idea of selling courses, having a private group, etc. I’ve always just enjoyed making content and having others enjoy what I make. So, when I decided to create a product, I wanted to make sure 2 things were true: 1.) it would be incredibly cheap for people to not worry about the cost 2.) it would be something people find some use cases in a hyper-niche way so that showing people the value of it would be evident.
I believe this product does both of those things. It’s a $42.69/year subscription, so for the cost of less than 2 Palantir shares, you have unlimited access to the model to ask questions whenever you want. There is a cost to train and inference the model every time someone uses it, so hopefully at $40 bucks a year it’s not breaking the bank. I don’t do sponsors on this newsletter so to me building a product that I myself use and hopefully provides values to others that can use it has been the most fun part of building this over the past few months.

How You Can Use This
Okay, so this thing is really, really fun.
The goal is to ask any question about Palantir (outside of whether you should buy or not) and get immediate information. We aren’t fully equipped to give real-time updates on the stock price itself, but that will be coming soon. The core goal is to make sure that questions about financials, partnerships, etc. are answered easily and with the best information. As the model is trained daily, you should be able to ask questions about things happening on the day-to-day.
Alex Karp spoke to Bloomberg today…about what?
Let’s ask:
The Bloomberg interview was uniquely revealing in that Karp spoke about how much demand the company actually had when it came to AIP. So let’s go deeper and ask hobbits.ai to be more specific about why Karp felt demand was so high for AIP:
This thing can get really, really cool. I’ve been covering Palantir for 3 years, so the repository of information I have on Palantir is extensive, and is the only reason this model is actually so strong — 20M words and counting have been used to train it.
AIP Con
AIPCon 3 was a pretty incredible conference — most of the presentations focused on showing use cases for AI in the enterprise, which was the core thing I believe the street wanted to see to better understand how companies are actually using AIP in their organization.
A few presentations stood out to me. First, Panasonic:
Panasonic was one of the most surprising presentations because they discussed how they are using Palantir’s mixed reality product within a commercial application. They can use any headset, in this case the vision pro, but they are connecting the real time data they are seeing via Palantir’s software. Most of us though the mixed reality product was just going to be for the defense side, but it seems like commercial enterprises are realizing that they can use VR/AR but need the right software to make it materialize into business results.
Whats unique about this is how many other enterprises in the world will begin to embrace mixed reality. Apple is concerned about selling vision pro’s to consumers — if enterprises end up seeing the value in the product, it will only materialize into business results if they have software driving value from the headset, and it seems like Palantir could be one of the core pieces of software that enable that business value from mixed reality applications.
Archer
So, how is Archer Aviation now using Palantir?
The Archer presentation was unique in that we’ve seen Palantir have experience with eVTOL aircraft companies before, Lilium being one of them, and then recently Surf Air Mobility.
It seems like this is a space the company is very interested in because they see different commercial applications of their software and as a result, are spending time working with clients to see how well AIP could uniquely benefit companies going after the “Uber of the Skies” vision.
Palantir’s Internal AIP
The final presentation at the conference was really, really exciting. Palantir has essentially built their own internal AIP, filled with data from hundreds of bootcamps, all centralized in one place, to ultimately take over the role of a Forward Deployed Engineer.
Now why does this matter?
Alex Karp has said the hardest problem on scaling bootcamps is not the money, but having the talent that could actually be deployed in order to conduct the bootcamps.
With this new internal AIP, Palantir can give companies the model so that when they have questions or want to see how hundreds of other clients have found use cases for AIP, they can just use this. As a result, this actually allows customers themselves to run mini-bootcamps and help other potential customers with concerns they have about implementing AIP in their enterprise, ultimately creating a massive network effect that should set up Palantir for astronomical growth.
Overall, it was an incredibly exciting AIP Conference and we should start to see much, much stronger growth in the future from Palantir.
By the way, Dan Ives has raised his target at the time of writing this from $30 to $35.
Thank you for reading - we are just getting started on this journey.
